Bethany members are also actively involved in several international mission projects including communication with our sister church (Adams Church in South Africa) , Harvest Hands Mexico Missions, Healing the Children, and One Great Hour of Sharing.

  • Harvest Hands Mission Trip to Mexico: Several members of the Bethany Congregation are actively involved in annual mission trips to Mexico to help with the Harvest Hands Mission Project there. This trip offers the congregation firsthand experience working with needy people in Mexico. They will have an opportunity to learn more about the needs of people in that region. There are many opportunities to get involved in other ways for those who are not going:

    • Sponsor a Mexican school child by financial donations. (See the Harvest Hands Web Page Sponsor a Child page for amounts necessary to sponor a child this year).
    • Collect clothing and other needed items for the relief of needy people in Mexico
    • VERY IMPORTANT! Offer prayer support to the team that is going each year

  • Healing the Children: Bethany is getting involved in a missions society that helps to provide necessary medical care to peoples throughout the world who are in need of professional treatment through the "Healing the Children" program. This program sends doctors to needed areas, and brings some children from needy countries to the US for care. Our sponsorship of this program is just starting up this year.
  • One Great Hour of Sharing: Bethany contributed recently to the One Great Hour of Sharing program. Our church is highly dedicated to missions projects around the globe and provides substantial financial support for our denomination's global efforts. We are also involved in many missions efforts that we manage ourselves. UCC donations, including the One Great Hour of Sharing go to help people:

    • feed, support themselves and their families
    • learn new skills and trades
    • obtain better healthcare
    • find a safe refuge to start their lives again
    • see hope in the face of disasters
    • survive and work toward a better life
    • see Jesus at work in our world...through us!
